Regan Marie Nelson is an American playwright, residing in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. She has been involved in theatre from a very young age as a playwright, actress, director, and producer and has held various production support positions, as well as served on two community theatre Board of Directors, for Twin Beach Players (North Beach, MD) and New Direction Community Theater (St. Leonard, MD). She also founded the Twin Beach Players Youth Troup in 2008, where she directed several of their productions annually with the Annual Kids’ Playwriting Festival, as well as adapting A CHRISTMAS CAROL twice and directing it with an all youth cast.
She also served as guest director at Mt. Harmony Elementary School (Owings, MD) for productions of “WILLIE WONKA, JR..”, “THE LITTILE MERMAID, JR..”, “THE JUNGLE BOOK, JR.,” and “MY SON PINOCCHIO, JR..”
Ms. Nelson founded the Anne Arundel County, Maryland theatre group, Write Here Onstage, which is composed of volunteers who write and perform all original stage plays in Maryland. She is currently the resident playwright and Artistic Director, and has directed three of her original productions, “A BLOODY DOUBLE CROSS”, “‘TIL DEATH DO US START” and “BE A DOLL AND DIE-Murder Mystery” for FrightReads Book Festival events, with starring roles in the latter two in 2025.
She also directed other original productions of her plays “THE SET UP” produced at Southern Maryland Originals in 2012 and “ANYONE BUT YOU” at the Thunderous Productions One Act Festival in 2023.
Her original play “DYING TO MEET YOU” was selected to be performed by Tiger’s Heart Players in Bronx, NY on January 2, 2026.
Additionally, her original play “FOR BETTER OR FOR CRYING OUT LOUD ” was chosen by Opening Night Productions for their production entry for the Maryland Community Theatre One Act Festival, where they won 3rd place on January 31, 2026. It is advancing to the East Coast Theatre Association’s One Act Festival, running April 9-12, 2026.
She has three scheduled performances of original shows in 2026. One will be May 15, 2026, at the CRAA Festival in Bel Air, MD, where Write Here Onstage will perform her original horror comedy, “THE MONSTER MATCH”, which has auditions on March 3r and March 6, 2026.

Write Here Onstage will be performing two of her original horror comedies for performances for FrightReads Halfway to Halloween at Marley Station Mall in Glen Burnie, MD on May 9, 2026 (THE MONSTER MATCH) and at FrightReads Book Festival 6 at the Howard County Fairgrounds (MD) on October 24, 2026, (Show to be determined-possibly A HORRORIBLE END: RETIREMENT HOME FOR MONSTERS).
Ms. Nelson also had her original comedic monologue, “Lucky…Me?” chosen as 1 of 12 from entries all over the world for Rainy Day Artistic Collective’s livestream showcase of original monologues that center around the theme of “luck.”
